Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health comes as the global fight fans had expressed sympathy for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
