Per new allegations from a informant, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, now completing a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a source provided information indicating Maxwell is preparing the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for clemency.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unclear, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has individually organized exclusive visits for Maxwell and her visitors.

The visits allegedly include a designated private space for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and potential for unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was given specific instructions about instructing her contacts to call and how staff would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she “essentially used” the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the supervisor, who would provide them to the inmate, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the White House said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Recently, reports surfaced that she told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

In August, she was moved from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most detainees are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's private attorney.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own connections to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, the congressman also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the president to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that the official attend a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to the President.

Raskin asked whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the transfer or special conditions in prison, and whether she, her attorneys, family or agents have made any commitments to the President or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the questions by 24 November.

In October, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
