The loved ones of teens lost after a devastating fire at a bar in a Swiss alpine town are confronting an painful period of uncertainty for answers and pleading for any details about their children online.

The inferno ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Verified images depict the roof structure being engulfed in flames as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Authorities have indicated that it could take considerable time to identify the victims of the disaster, which resulted in the death of numerous partygoers and injured another scores more. The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are still unconfirmed, according to an appeal from his mother.

The resident of a town near Lausanne, explained to a local newspaper that she had gone back to Lausanne to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the same in the capital, but did not locate him.

The Italy's foreign ministry has said that six of its nationals are still unaccounted for.

The national sporting body has stated that he is no longer with us, without mentioning the fire, honoring a "young athlete who carried with him dedication and true sportsmanship."
