Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded this past week, and through an impressive show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the prestigious Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's success, the talented cast also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English won Best Lead Performer for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Studio of the Year. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved 7 awards during the ceremony.
Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the gamers, with only 4 special—Critics Choice, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by reviewers.
