Fringe Players Seize the Moment
This occasion provided a platform for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second game in succession.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
